Pledge With Confidence

Paul's story: Backing a campaign

Paul loves to discover new products as an early adopter. Browsing Pledgecamp, he finds an awesome campaign for rocket roller skates. Backer Insurance gives him peace of mind, so he decides to pledge.

Campaign is successful

The creator will receive initial funds to begin production while the rest will be stored in the Backer Insurance contract. Backer Insurance will serve as a secure escrow system to protect backers if the creator fails to reach promised milestones.

Creator begins development. Backer Insurance is funded.

Creator is held accountable

The creator, Noelle, must reach the milestones promised during the campaign. She will remain transparent and accountable in order to win her backers' trust and earn the Backer Insurance funds.

Scenario 1: Paul receives the product

Paul is happy to see Noelle's informative updates throughout the production journey. Noelle earns the remaining Backer Insurance and uses the funds to deliver rocket skates to every backer. Success!

Scenario 2: Milestones missed

Issues arise and Noelle does not demonstrate a clear and responsible plan to fix them. Paul and the other backers vote to cancel the project and claim the remaining Backer Insurance. Building new products is risky, but Paul gains some financial compensation thanks to Backer Insurance.
